  • Inquiring Chaverim is a group for those interested in learning about and discussing aspects of Jewish history, culture and current affairs.  Each month one or two members choose a topic for the next month’s discussion and identify some brief materials that address the topic. These will be distributed group members for review prior to the meeting, leading to lively, provocative discussions.

At the initial organization meeting we will discuss potential group topics, group structure, and set a schedule.  Some example topics might include:

    • The influence of Jewish leaders, such as Maimonides or Isaac M. Wise
    • Important Jewish events, such as the founding of Israel or the redacting of the Torah
    • Development of Jewish rituals and sacred objects
    • Specific religious practices, such as Kabbalah or Jewish meditation
    • Jewish culture, such as the art of Degas, or recent trends in sacred music
    • Antisemitism in America and around the world

Bring your curiosity and help us all learn more about Judaism and about each other.
