Meet Your Senior Rabbi Search Committee

Aug 07, 2026 / 24 Av, 5786

The Senior Rabbi Search Committee members have been chosen! This is the group that will review applications from leading candidates, conduct interviews and recommend a final candidate to the Leadership Council and Board of Trustees. According to Temple’s bylaws, both the Board of Trustees and the Leadership Council must approve the selection and hiring of the new senior rabbi.

The members of the search committee reflect a broad scope of Temple and represent every age and stage, various affinity groups and experience in Temple governance, including:

  • Current Board and Leadership Council members
  • Past Board members
  • Congregants with deep intergenerational roots
  • Significant concentration of youngest Temple members, both single and with families, and Center for Jewish Learning families as well as a teen representative
  • Leaders in the greater Dallas Jewish community
  • Civic/business leaders in the Dallas community
  • Leaders whose experience at Temple and beyond reflects commitment to our core values (Social Justice, Worship, Learning, Israel, Community)
  • Leaders across age demographics

Also, as part of the search process, candidates invited to visit Temple will meet with our past presidents and other cohorts, offering opportunities for our community to share additional input with the search committee during their deliberations.

“We are confident this extraordinary group of Temple members will lead us to the right senior rabbi for Temple,” says Temple President Sara Albert. “Through the work that has already been done by the Sharing Our Strengths project and the work that the search committee will be doing in the coming months, Temple is poised for a successful search.”
