Cocktail Reception and Private Tour of “Octavio Medellin: Spirit & Form”

Learn about this important 20^th century Mexican American sculptor whose work holds a prominent place in Temple’s history. Medellin created the mosaic sculpture created “The Promised Land” on the exterior wall east of Linz Hall as you approach the doors to the Olan Sanctuary entrance, as well as the shimmering silver, gold, blue and green mosaic tiles that form the candelabra on the Olan Sanctuary ark wall. You’ll enjoy cocktails and light bites as you hear from Mark Castro, the Jorge Baldor Curator of Latin American Art at the DMA and Katherine Brodbeck, Temple member and Hoffman Family Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the DMA.
