Prayer Project 2026-2027

Imagine being able to walk into almost any Jewish worship service and understand the structure of the service, the meaning of the liturgy and how individual prayers create a greater narrative for our spiritual lives. Learn all this and more as part of the Prayer Project!

This year-long class, taught by Cantor Vicky Glikin, is designed to deepen understanding of the Jewish worship service and how it can create deeper spiritual connections.

In a combination of monthly study sessions, participation in Shabbat services and shared community, the Prayer Project will use song, silence, journaling, study and conversation to explore prayers and connect to Jewish liturgy in new ways. The class will also help students cultivate personal prayer practices for daily life. The course materials include the Mishkan T’filah prayer book and a paperback or digital copy of “Making Prayer Real” by Rabbi Mike Comins. Students will also be asked to read the monthly assignment, listen to audio recordings and to compose journal entries.

Cost: $20, excluding books and optional Shabbat meals
