General Questions:

Q: What are the COVID protocols for High Holy Day services?
A:Proof of Vaccination: All members who are eligible to be vaccinated against Covid-19 are required to upload proof of vaccination and honor Our Brit: Covenant of Care to enter the building. Exceptions apply for certain services. Please upload here.You will need to show your confirmation email with your tickets. The subject of the email is "Confirmation Email: Temple Emanu-El Brit and Proof of Vaccination". If you need help uploading your vaccine card, please email us at hhd@tedallas.org or call 214-706-0000

Digital Admission Card: Please be prepared to show the Digital Admission Card sent to you after registration. The subject line of the email is “Your Tickets for High Holy Days 2021 Event.” You can also find them via the confirmation text from the number 41444. If you need to make a change to your reservations, or need help finding your tickets, please contact us.

Q: How do I access services online? 
A: Links to access online services can be found on this webpage. Bookmark the page and have your member login handy to visit at the date and time of the service that you want to watch.

Q: Tell me about seating for in-person services?
A: Please note, to allow us to be together, Tobian Auditorium seating will be placed farther apart than in years past. Some rows or seats will be blocked off for all to social distance. Please also be aware that audio-visual equipment will be prominently placed at the back and on the inside of Olan Sanctuary, on the slate floor and will partially obstruct the view of the bimah.

Q: What will parking look like for in-person services? 
A: Our parking lots are expected to fill up quickly. As in past years, Temple is pleased to offer an easy, comfortable solution. Air-conditioned vans will be available between NorthPark Center and Temple during the High Holy Days. The shuttles will be available in the northernmost corner of the parking lot, in front of Macy's and Nordstrom, facing Park Lane.


Registration and Digital Admissions Cards:

Q: How do I register to receive my admissions cards?
A: Registration for High Holy Days begins on Thursday, July 22 at 10 a.m. at https://participate.tedallas.org/highholydays.

Q: How do I register if I can't register online?
A: We welcome members who cannot register online to please call 214.706.0000 and we will be happy to assist you with your registraion. 

Q: Who can I reach out to with questions regarding registration?

Q: Will I receive paper admissions packets this year?
A: This year, all registration is being handled online. Members will not be receiving registration packets, and all admissions cards will be digitally issued.

Q: Will each participant receive a unique digital admissions card so that family members may arrive separately? Will digital admissions cards be sent to each person or only to the person registering?
A: Digital Admissions cards will be issued to the member completing registration for each family member in their household for whom they register. The digital admissions cards will be able to be printed or emailed to those family members, as needed.

Q: Are guests allowed who are not members of my family or members of Temple Emanu-El?
A: Our High Holy Days services and events are for our members and their families. Closer to Rosh Hashanah, we will communicate any opportunities for guest admissions who are not members of your family.

Q: I made a mistake during my registration and need help making adjustments to my admissions cards. How can I make changes once I have registered?
A: We will do our best to accomodate changes, whenever possible, as admission cards are reserved on a first come, first served basis. Please contact us at 214.706.0000 and a member of our staff can assist you. You may also email us at hhd@tedallas.org.


High Holy Days Service Projects

Q: How else can I get involved this Holy Day season?
A: Sign-up to volunteer with ATiD, 20's and 30's to unload the pod at North Dallas Shared Ministries. Register your 7th or 8th grader to volunteer to unload the Pod at North Dallas Shared Ministries. 


Services

Q: What are the service times for the family/children's services?

Q: I noticed that the afternoon service for Yom Kippur day is livestream only.  Is the building still going to be open during that period — for example, if I brought my computer, would I be able to watch the livestream somewhere in the building? 
A: Temple will not be open to members that afternoon. All members will be able to join the afternoon service on Yom Kippur online from another location.

Q: Can I register for both in-person and online services, if I'd like to attend some in-person and others from home?
A: Yes! During registration you will be able to choose a hybrid in-person and online option, and can select which services you will be joining at Temple and from the comfort of your own home.

Q: Which in-person services are for vaccinated people only, regardless of age and eligibility?
A: The vaccination requirement does not apply to Temple youth, ages 12-18, attending the following services:

Rosh Hashanah:

  • Family services in Stern Chapel at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Congregational service in Olan Sanctuary at 12 p.m. 

Yom Kippur:

  • Family services in Stern Chapel at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Congregational service in Olan Sanctuary at 12 p.m.  

High Holy Day Prayer Book 

Q: Is there an online version of the prayerbook? 
A: Yes! We are thrilled, thanks to the CCAR Press, to have an online version of Mishkan HaNefesh—Machzor for the Days of Awe. We will be using this magnificent prayer book throughout the High Holy Days. If you are joining us online, you can download Mishkan HaNefesh from this link on a device while we pray together and open our hearts in this season of return.

Q: When can I pick up my High Holy Day prayer books?
A: There will be 5 pickup dates: Aug. 23-24; 29, Sep. 2-3. Times vary each of those days for pickup. Watch for more details to be shared in future Weekly emails.
