SUMMARY:Dialogue\, Memory and the Presence of God
DESCRIPTION:What does it mean to feel God’s presence—not just in ancient texts\, but in conversation\, memory and everyday life? In this new class taught by Rabbi Seymour Rossel\, Temple member and Chever Torah teacher\, we’ll explore how dialogue opens us to the Divine\, how remembering connects us to sacred time\, and how the Bible’s idea of God’s presence still speaks today. Drawing from Jewish thought\, modern philosophy and timeless stories\, these sessions are for anyone who wonders where—and how—we can sense God in our lives.

SUMMARY:Cantor in the Kitch Persian Feast
DESCRIPTION:Set the table for an evening of Persian flavors\, shared stories and meaningful connection. As we prepare for Purim\, Cantor in the Kitch invites you to a Persian feast weaving together food\, song and conversation to explore the traditions of Persian Jewry. \nThrough an introduction to classic Persian ingredients\, dishes and flavor profiles—and the stories they carry—we’ll reflect on history\, memory and the enduring power of culture passed from generation to generation. This special evening\, led by Cantor Leslie Niren\, includes a live cooking demonstration and a seated tasting of traditional Persian dishes. \nWe are delighted to welcome two special guests: \n• Galeet Dardashti Ph.D.\, a scholar\, musician and anthropologist of Middle Eastern Jewish culture\, who will share the history of Iran and Persian Jewry. \n• Shiva Beck\, an attorney and Iranian-born member of the Dallas Jewish community\, who will share her personal story and speak to the central role food plays in Persian culture and family life. \nJoin us beginning at 5:30 p.m. for an appetizer drink and nosh before the program begins at 6 p.m.

SUMMARY:February 20\, 2026: All-In Shabbat
DESCRIPTION:Get happy at All-In Shabbat on Feb. 20 as we celebrate Adar\, described by the Talmud as the month in which joy increases. (Cue Purim\, which arrives two weeks later!) Spend a soul and spirit-pleasing evening with us as we bring in Shabbat in art\, song\, story\, prayer and food. \nThe evening begins at 5 p.m. with Chavayah (experience)\, featuring hands-on joy stations for all ages\, including joy jar creation\, Purim mask-making and note-writing for our Noya’s Bear stuffed animal collection. At 5:30 p.m.\, enjoy a special storytelling by Rabbi Amy Rossel geared for our young families with children up to age 5. \nAt 6 p.m.\, we’ll gather for an all-ages-friendly Shabbat service led by Cantor Vicky Glikin and Rabbi Kimberly Herzog Cohen\, featuring Kol Shir and the Shir Joy youth choirs. Stay after the service for a congregational dinner and more time to enjoy the Chavayah activities—because joy is meant to be shared. \nSign up to volunteer at All-In Shabbat here.
