Clergy: Rabbi Amy Rossel -

Rabbi Amy Rossel grew up in Dallas, right here at Temple Emanu-El, and was involved in synagogue life from a young age. As a teenager, she taught in the Temple Emanu-El Religious School and was involved in DAFTY. Rabbi Rossel also spent 15 fifteen summers as camper and staff at the Union for Reform Judaism’s Greene Family Camp in Bruceville, Texas. After moving to Connecticut for college, Rabbi Rossel continued her involvement in the Jewish community, teaching in religious schools for 10 years, and serving as the advisor for the West Hartford, Connecticut, chapter of the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY).

Rabbi Rossel earned a B.A. in Psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University and, in 2009, a Master of Education from Xavier University. She was ordained in 2010 at the Cincinnati campus of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. In 2014, Rabbi Rossel received her RJE credential, the highest professional standard a Reform Jewish educator can achieve. Rabbi Rossel is a board member of the national professional organization ARJE, the Association of Reform Jewish Educators.

Rabbi Rossel joined the Temple Emanu-El staff in 2010 as the Director of Youth Learning, guiding and leading the Religious and Hebrew schools. Rabbi Rossel is currently the Director of Learning and Innovation and oversees Youth Learning + Engagement, as well as significant involvement in the Early Childhood Education Center. Rabbi Rossel has two daughters, Leona and Briana. She both thrilled to be home and once again involved in the Temple Emanu-El community.
