Youth Choir

The Temple Emanu-El Youth Choir, Zamarim, offers an opportunity for growth; personally and spiritually through the connection of song, prayer and community. Children from the 3rd grade on who sing in the choir gain a relationship to Judaism through interaction and leadership singing at High Holy Day services, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Chanukah and Purim, the Sisterhood Chanukah Bazaar, and joint Chanukah concerts with the Adult Choir at Northpark Mall.

The choir has sung with renowned Jewish recording artists such as Sam Glaser, Julie Silver, Gemini and Noah Budin. They have performed at the Morton Meyerson Symphony Hall (Jewish ArtsFest), the JCC, Temple Shalom, Congregation Shearith Israel for Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) and Yom Haatzmaut (Israel Independence Day).

Zamarim provides a fun, committed learning experience for the children who participate. They build an enhanced sense of self and community through their involvement.
