Help a well deserving child at Jill Stone Elementary get ahead in a school which is located close to Temple Emanu-El in distance, but is not in a wealthy neighborhood. Many of these families are at or below the poverty level. The principal has asked us for tutors to help 3rd-5th grade students in math and English during school hours or afterwards. These children are in crowded classrooms and occasionally need some one-on-one time to keep up. This is a great way for teenagers to get community service hours also. We want to help keep our adopted school in the Recognized category of DISD.
