Welcome to Temple Emanu-el
Baruch Haba! Welcome!
Consider this your first visit to Temple Emanu-El, and imagine this scene: in one part of the building, Pre-School children sing and laugh their way down the halls; in another, a young couple meets with a rabbi to discuss the wedding that will begin their lives together; down a hallway a family gathers for comfort and strength before a funeral. A group of concerned congregants meets to plan how Temple can continue to play a role in healing our city. Participants of all ages come together at Temple and around town to strike glimmering sparks from the study of Torah and other Jewish texts. A prayer place fills to the brim with spirit and song.
Every day at Temple Emanu-El is rich with possibility, surprise, and the enchantment that comes from opening this great gift that we call Judaism. This congregation has always striven to be a family of support and strength in times of need, of challenge and of inspiration as we seek the courage to make a difference in the world. We are a community of sacred moments—a community of Jews, a community of history—and always, a community of commitment. At the beginning of a new century, we are the bearers of a magnificent legacy. We hope you’ll join us as together we share the bright future that lies ahead.
B’shalom,
Rabbi David Stern
