Sukkot Lunch & Learn: The Sukkah on the Camel’s Back
October 18th, 12 p.m.

During the seven day holiday of Sukkot, we are commanded to dwell in temporary shelters known as sukkot. “Dwelling” in this case could mean sharing meals in the sukkah and it could also mean living in the sukkah. Since we spend so much time in our sukkot, it has become common practice to decorate the sukkah with fruits or vegetables hanging from the ceiling and paper chains draping the walls. But have you ever thought about building your sukkah on the back of a camel? Or what about using the camel as one of the walls of the sukkah? Though there are rules and regulations dictating how we can build our sukkot, they are not as straightforward as you might think. Using Talmudic text, we will spend time as a group and in chevruta studying these interesting and unique rules about building a sukkah. Join Rabbi Amy Ross on October 18th at 12pm in the sukkah for the Sukkot Lunch & Learn. Bring your lunch and we’ll provide drinks and dessert!
