Simchat Torah Service and Celebration
Celebrate Simchat Torah!
Wednesday, September 29, 2010 • 7 p.m. • Olan Sanctuary
Simchat Torah is one of the most joyous of Jewish holidays. Finishing the annual cycle of torah readings, Simchat Torah celebrates the delight at having completed the study of God’s word, and joy at the opportunity to begin studying them again.
Join the entire congregation as we remove the torah scrolls from the ark and rejoice in the sanctuary with song and dance. All generations will have the opportunity to hold the torah! We will consecrate our youngest students, enjoy hearing our recent bar and bat mitzvah students read from the Torah, and listen to the joyous music of a klezmer band. We will provide the flags - or feel free to bring your own - and experience the joy of this festive holiday.
Join us in Tobian Auditorium after the service for some delicious snacks.
