Reminders for the High Holy Days Friendly reminders for your safety, convenience and comfort during the High Holy Days. Police officers, admission card takers, and Temple volunteers are on hand for your safety and For security purposes, Temple will be closed until 4:00p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, to prepare for Rosh Hashanah and on Friday, September 17 to prepare for Yom Kippur. High Holy Days services are for Temple members. However, we do provide worship services for guests. Admission cards for our guest services will be available in the Levy Reception area beginning Thursday, September 2. They will also be available on Friday, September 3 and Tuesday, September 7. Temple asks for a minimum contribution of $50 to help offset the cost of High Holy Days services including printing, shuttle buses, security, etc. The audio/visual from the Olan Sanctuary services will be projected into the guest services in Lefkowitz Chapel. All members and guests are requested to present their High Holy Days services admission card to the greeter at the door when you arrive at Temple. Your cooperation is appreciated. Sanctuary services are open to members and their children ages 7 years and older except the Yom Kippur Memorial Service, for which children must be at least 10 years old. Remember to bring your personal copy of the Gates of Repentance prayer book. Temple has a limited number for distribution at services. If you will be out of town during the High Holy Days, or if you have children away in college, contact the Temple Emanu-El business office to obtain a URJ Courtesy Request Form to receive admission to services at a URJ congregation in another city. We encourage you to use off-site parking at Northpark Center. Air-conditioned shuttle bus transportation between Northpark and Temple is available. You must have your admission card with you to board the bus. Please see the “Off-Site Parking” insert for shuttle bus times. It is against the law to park in fire lanes. To preserve the beauty of the Temple grounds, please do not park in the south pecan grove. Please cooperate with ushers who are instructed to fill all vacant seats, except for those seats saved for drivers who are parking cars. To help preserve the spirit and sanctity of the High Holy Days season, please turn off cell phones and place beepers in “silent” mode during services. Diaper-changing facilities are available in specially marked restrooms located near the child care rooms. Questions or concerns? Please feel free to contact us at 214.706.0000.
