Acts of Loving Kindness
High Holy Day Hunger Relief • Project (Phase I: Collection)
Wednesday, September 8 through Friday, September 24
For many years our congregation has taken seriously the words of our Jewish tradition to set aside “the
corners of our fields” for the poor and the stranger, so they might share in our bounty. This year, we will once again participate in this joint effort of the Reform, Conservative and Reconstructionist movements, coordinated by Mazon: A Jewish Response to Hunger. As a congregation, we deepen the meaning of
Yom Kippur and give new life to the ancient Jewish tradition of feeding the hungry.
The Temple Brotherhood honors the memory of Malcolm and Sally Schiller by sponsoring this Yom Kippur Food Collection. Malcolm and Sally dedicated tireless volunteer hours meeting the needs of the hungry
in our community.
• Beginning on Rosh Hashanah and continuing through Yom Kippur, there will be a portable storage unit for donations in the north parking lot at Temple.
• Beginning Wednesday, September 8, we will be happy to accept the donations listed above.
• If you use off-site parking for services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, there will be receptacles available for donations at the NorthPark parking area.
