Renée Karp Celebration

May 16 • 6:15 p.m. Shabbat service Olan Sanctuary

Temple Emanu-El congregants and community leaders will gather to honor Renée Karp for her 30 years of service to Temple Emanu-El and the broader community. The evening will begin with Shabbat services and will be followed by a program and a special Oneg Shabbat given by the congregation in Renée’s honor.

As she leaves the Temple staff, Renée reflects that after her long standing marriage to David and her family, her proudest achievement is the privilege she has had of forging connections – as a teacher, mentor and community volunteer. “ In a powerful way,” she adds, “my work at Temple Emanu-El has given me a perspective to respect what is important in life. It’s given me a compass I’m not sure I would have had otherwise.”

Honor Renée with a brick
A new section of commemorative bricks will be installed in Renée Karp’s honor in Temple Emanu-El’s Celebration Garden in the Horchow Courtyard. Individuals wishing to create an enduring legacy for Renee may do so by contributing toward the purchase of a brick. Each contribution will benefit the Temple Emanu-El Endowment Fund.
