Lomdim (Learners) Program
Temple Emanu-El strives to employ the most productive methods possible to effectively teach all students in our Religious School with regard to their learning styles. The Lomdim program is supervised by Eileen Kreisler, M.Ed, a certified educational diagnostician and special education teacher.

The program consists of a faculty that is specially trained to work with students who have dyslexia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), or other related learning differences. Depending on the particular situation, a member of the faculty works individually with a student either in the regular classroom or one-to-one, helps the regular teacher with classroom management situations, and/or spends varying amounts of time in different classrooms, observing specific students.

Students in our Lomdim program are eligible for Bar/Bat Mitzvah at age thirteen. Please call Eileen Kreisler in the Religious School office at 214.706.0000 ext.170.

Special Needs Hebrew
We also offer a special Hebrew program designed to meet the needs of our students with dyslexia, attention deficit disorder (ADHD), or other related learning differences. Students work in a small group with a qualified instructor or teaching aide.

Please call Jan Timmons in the Religious School office at 214.706.0000 ext.175 to discuss this option, or for any special Hebrew learning issues.
