Parent Link (formerly the Youth and Religious School Parents Association)
The primary purpose of Parent Link is to coordinate parent volunteers to support the Youth Programs and Religious School at Temple Emanu-El. In doing so, we not only provide much needed service and support, but build community by involving parents in Temple activities.
Judaism is about extending our circle of caring beyond ourselves. By serving in the Parents’ Association, we model, by word and deed, the ethics of caring and responsibility. There are several ways to support our activities:
Ongoing Committees serve central functions within our Youth Programs and Religious School. These volunteers create the social foundation for our students.
Projects/Events add spice and excitement to our kids’ lives. These are one-time events (e.g., Consecration, school-wide holiday celebrations, year-end picnic) during the year. Volunteers participate in organizing and running them.
Grade-Level Teams focus primarily on the experience of our students in Religious School. Grade-level volunteers may support learning in the classrooms, plan a grade-specific youth event, etc.
Parents’ Association Leadership supports and directs the Parents’ Association itself. As architects of these volunteer opportunities, the Parents’ Association leaders shape the Jewish lives of our students.
Please consider volunteering. The Parents’ Association volunteer form is available in the Religious School office. For more information about the Parents’ Association, or to volunteer, please contact Andrea Wolf, Religious School Communications, at 214.706.0021 or awolf@tedallas.org.
