Sisterhood

As the women’s organization of Temple Emanu-El, Sisterhood provides a Jewish environment for individuals to expand and grow. The Women of Reform Judaism, through Sisterhood, are committed to strengthening the synagogue and perpetuating Judaism. Please visit Sisterhood's online community at www.tesisterhood.org.

Sisterhood Hall of Fame speeches:

Through Sisterhood programs, we encourage:

  • Membership in Sisterhood and synagogue.
  • The search for spirituality in our worship and prayers.
  • Greater commitment to Jewish study.
  • Following the teaching of the prophets through community activities.
  • Development of future leadership.

Sisterhood promotes a sense of identity and belonging with other Jewish women. Programming provides a variety of avenues for each woman to connect—with other women, with herself, with Judaism, and with her community. Warm welcomes are extended each Friday night by Sisterhood at the Oneg Shabbat, and throughout the year as co-hosts of the Yom Kippur Break the Fast, the family dinners at Sukkot and Chanukah, and the interfaith Shabbat service.
