Cindy Silvestri prepares challah similar to the one delivered to Larry Ginsburg when he had surgery.

Fourteen months ago, I became partially-bionic, when I had a total knee replacement at Baylor Hospital. Needless to say, the recovery and rehabilitation was challenging. Our Caring Congregation volunteers were aware of my surgery, and after being released on Friday morning, I received a call, inquiring as to how I felt. Shortly, there arrived a care package for Shabbat. One of our Temple teens, Josh Goldberg (whose Torah reading captivates me each Yom Kippur) delivered chicken soup, challah and a brownie to my home, and I felt Temple's broad arms figuratively embrace me with the warm glow of Shabbat. Thank you Caring Congregation volunteers!!
